The 2009 Gevrey-Chambertin is a pretty, sleek wine layered with elegant fruit and vibrant perfume. This shows lovely focus and energy, not to mention terrific overall balance. I would not be surprised to see this merit a higher score with further bottle age. Anticipated maturity: 2012–2022.

This rich, fleshy red is balanced on the soft side, with black cherry and blackberry flavors. Very accessible now, with its structure well-coated by fruit. Drink now through 2018.
