Deep color, medium-to-heavy feel. Strong, sweet fragrance with wood and spice tones. Butterscotch candy flavors, so strong I almost hear cellophane unwrapping, are echoed by some oak, caramel and vanilla. Smooth, not too much alcohol fire. Mellow, long finish with a touch of herbal and anise notes.

Deep copper color. Toasted banana nut bread nose with an acetone edge. A round dry entry leads to a medium-bodied palate with layers of sweet maple, charred oak staves, forest underbrush, toffee, and birch beer. Lingering and evolving dry wood-driven finish with a touch of sweetness and spiciness. A dash of water opens this over-proof product up, reduces the oak, and adds further dimension. A very nice, dry, cigar bourbon.

Light to medium-amber in color, this whiskey has a delicate nose with hints of vanilla, light fruits, and fresh mint. The medium body bears a palate that’s far sweeter that the nose suggests — oak, vanilla, and a hint of dates are all detectable here. The finish is medium, but bordering on long.

Owns a reddish brown henna/auburn color that’s very pretty; unblemished clarity. Smells out of the gate like dried fruits (prunes, black raisins) and honey; seven more minutes of aeration stimulate deeper, more confectioner’s shop-like fudge, dark caramel, nougat, and dried apricot. The entry is succulent, semisweet, toffee-like, and luscious; midpalate is resiny/sawdust-like, oily/buttery, caramel-like and just plain old dried red fruit delicious. Finishes was savory and integrated as it begins. an ideal American whiskey of the highest order. Incredible Buy!!

Had to include what I still think is one of the greatest values in all of spirits. Big-hearted aromas and flavors leap from the glass in the opening sniffs, but then this whiskey goes understated in the entry and midpalate stages. Terrific bargain and a must-have for any lover of whiskey.

Smells of prunes, black raisins and honey. Flavor is succulent, semisweet, with notes of toffee and dried red fruit. In a word: delicious. Enjoy it at room temperature in a tumbler with a side of mineral water.
