90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, 4% Petite Verdot; Purple/black, brooding, round, structured, lengthy.

Good medium ruby. Currant, truffle, mocha and smoky oak on the nose. Sweeter and suaver than the malbec bottling, offering good breadth to its flavors of plum, currant, truffle, mocha and spices. A more harmonious wine, finishing with dusty, fine-grained tannins and good length.

Meaty, herbal aromas are a bit rooty and mossy but with time they offer up berry fruit and spice. The palate is full and plump, and also a little hard and tannic, while the flavors suggest prune and cassis. Spicy and with good feel to the finish.

This pushes lots of toasty vanilla and coffee flavors to the fore, backed by crushed dark currant and blackberry fruit. Smoky finish. Drink now.
