The 2007 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano reveals tons of staying power in its juicy dark fruit, spices and minerals. This shows lovely inner perfume and ripeness in a fairly round style for Vino Nobile, all while retaining quite a bit of vibrancy. Sweet, mentholated notes add a dash of complexity on the finish. The Vino Nobile is 90% Sangiovese and 10% Canaiolo Nero that spent two years in a combination of 70% Slavonian oak casks and 30% smaller French oak barrels. Anticipated maturity: 2010–2017.
