With its tawny hue, smooth caramel and maple notes braced up with a slight oaky edge and buttery finish, this is a whiskey to savor. Try it in a Manhattan.

A light-amber whiskey with a sweet, sooty nose that offers a refreshing aroma of green apples. The medium body presents similar notes on the palate — tart apples and sweet sugar-maple charcoall — but theses are well balanced with a backdrop of spices. The finish is medium in length, and pleasantly warm.

Very attractive, medium amber/honey/harvest gold color, impeccably pure; the bouquet rings true with plenty of sweet corn-like zest, delighting the olfactory sense immediately in the initial nosing right after the pour — subsequent passes don’t reveal all that much more, opting instead to accent the buttered corn aspect, with a dollop of oakiness — while simple, there’s enough depth here to keep up the interest of the drinker; the taste is clearly where this sour mash excels as caramel-touched flavors of grain, oak, and toffee enchant the taste buds all the way through midpalate.
