Look for rich, rounded flavors with lots of honey, vanilla and baking spice notes. The palate is creamy, with a mouth-filling texture and smoky finish.

Such a deft intermingling of the softer fruits and bourbon notes… with barley in there to remind you of the distillery; intense and big yet all the time appearing delicate and light; the most apologetic of spices help spotlight the barley sweetness and delicate fruits; just so long and complex; something of the old fashioned fruit salad candy about this but with a small degree of toffee just rounding off the edges; if an award were to be given for the most consistently beautiful dram in Scotland, this would win more often than not. This under-rated distillery has won more friends with this masterpiece than probably any other brand.

Gold, with a light amber cast. Smoke, light tar/peat and golden raisin aromas. Soft, rounded texture. Quite smooth, with a very refined, polished palate. Has a nearly buttery sensation with just a touch of light floral notes to provide complexity.

Straw. Moderately full-bodied. Vanilla, smoke, anise. Sweet peppery nose leads a warm malty entry that tapers to a lingering brown spiced finish with subtle smoky flavors. A fairly assertive style.

The bouquet includes grainy/beany scents, a backnote of paraffin, a banana perfume and subtle yeastiness. The palate entry tastes of baked banana and almond paste; the midpalate stage has a deft touch of sweetness that’s more dried fruit-like (white raisin) than honeyed. Ends up clean, light-bodied and fresh.

The deep honey-like color is very pretty; superb clarity. The upfront aroma offers grainy/beany scents, with a backnote of paraffin; while I’d like to have a bit more aromatic substance here after aeration, the banana perfume is nice as is the subtle yeastiness. The palate entry tastes of baked banana and almond paste; the midpalate stage is notable for the deft touch of sweetness that’s more dried fruit-like (white raisin) that honeyed and that’s a plus. Ends up whistle clean, light-bodied, fresh.

SPICY - A deceptive delight that starts sweet with honey, leather and orange peel on the nose, then turns to spice on the palate. After a spot of honey on the tongue tip, the spices come on in earnest, with cinnamon and ginger. Leaves a long, spicy finish.

Lovely heather and pepper aromas marked by nuts and new oak. Almond and smoke flavors, with lush orange and roasted nuts; short, sweet finish, with nice orange expression.
