The 2009 Pinot Noir Shea Vineyard is my personal favorite. It offers up an inviting nose of balsam wood, exotic spices, incense, black cherry, and black raspberry. This leads to a velvety-textured, layered, plush, nicely proportioned wine with excellent balance, and a lengthy, fruit-filled finish. This pure, intense Pinot has the stuffing to evolve for another 1–2 years and will deliver prime drinking from 2012 to 2021.

Bright ruby. Highly fragrant aromas of black raspberry, sassafras and potpourri, with a hint of musky herbs. Sweet and seamless on the palate, offering deep candied red and dark berry flavors, zesty minerality and slow-mounting spiciness. Open-knit and fruit-driven but very fresh, finishing with excellent cling, subtle earthiness and persistent sweetness.
