The dark ruby-colored 2006 Milcampos Vinas Viejas spent eight months in new Hungarian and American oak. It exhibits an impressive nose of mineral, espresso, black cherry, and blackberry. This leads to a medium- to full-bodied wine with plenty of spicy black fruit, good concentration, enough structure to evolve for 2–3 years, and a lengthy finish. Drink it from 2011 to 2018.

Ruby-red. Musky cherry and dark berry aromas are complemented by notes of cracked pepper and herbs. Bitter cherry and sassafras on the palate, with a sweet note of cola on the back end. Finishes with a slightly clenched quality and an echo of bitter cherry. Give this some air.
