Rich and expressive, a wild ride of ripe blackberry, licorice, coffee and spice flavors that gain momentum with every sip. This has power, style and grace. Better than previously reviewed. Drink now through 2020.

The 2008 Pillar Box Reserve Shiraz spent 8 months in French and American oak. Purple-colored, it delivers an alluring nose of cedar, lavender, pepper, and blueberry. Concentrated and layered on the palate, it has more than ample succulent fruit, good balance, and enough structure to ensure 4–5 years of pleasurable drinking.

Deliciously fruity, this full-bodied Shiraz offers a big mouthful of flavor for the price, ranging from plums to mixed berries. The tannins are extremely supple, and the finish is long and a bit warm but nuanced, with hints of charred meat coming through. Drink now–2014.

Inky ruby. Aromas of crushed blackberry, licorice, chocolatey oak and clove. Supple, sweet and full, with gentle acidity providing delineation to the dark berry compote flavors. Finishes with lingering notes of sweet dark berries and white pepper.
