In addition to what he’s learned from books, and a few classes and mentors (including Rick McLeod of Premier), Joe’s wine knowledge has been gained primarily from his extensive traveling and tasting. He has been to Australia twelve times and has come to know the Aussie wines, particularly their lush Shiraz, very well (some might say too well!). His second home, to which he travels about every six months, is Italy. He has come to know the Italian varieties very well. From the Prosecco up north to the Nero d’Avola of the south, Joe has determined that Italy knows a thing or two about this winemaking business. He now feels very fortunate to be a part of the Premier Group.
