Critical Acclaim

WE91 Wine Enthusiast 5/1/2020

"This offers aromas of ripe black-skinned berry, scorched earth and leather. The dense palate presents ripe black cherry, tobacco and star anise alongside firm chewy tannins. Drink 2022–2030." (91 pts.)

VN90 Vinous Apr 2020

"The 2015 Celestino Pecci Brunello di Montalcino shows the warmth of the vintage through its first wave of dark, ripe black cherry, yet balances it well with more time in the glass, adding savory herbs, stone dust and dried roses. On the palate, velvety textures usher in a mix of red berries, minerals and savory spice, supported by juicy acids, as pretty inner florals amass toward the close. The finish is long and surprisingly structured, as grippy tannins clench the senses, yet there’s plenty of primary fruit to maintain balance." (90 pts.)

JS97 JamesSuckling.com Monday, December 21, 2020

"This is an extremely refined, focused young Brunello with subtle, enticing aromas of flowers and black cherries that follow through to a medium to full body, ultra-fine tannins and a finish that lasts for minutes. Best I have ever had from here. A young Brunello that already shows so much class now, but better in two or three years. Better after 2022 and beyond." (97 pts.)

There are few regions as picturesque as Italy's Tuscany. And there are few regions that produce finer wines, either. Tuscany is home to legendary wine regions Brunello di Montalcino and Chianti, among others, where the red wine grape Sangiovese is king. It's also home to "Super Tuscans," a category of Tuscan wines that don't officially fall within the Italian wine classification system.

Italy is famous for its powerful, sleek, and elegant reds wines from ancient growing areas with legendary names such as Chianti, Barolo, Barbaresco, Montepulciano. Italian white wines are also gaining popularity: Orvieto, Pinot Grigio, and Sauvignon are excellent examples of Italian white wines.

Wines of Italy are complex and flavorful, much like the culture that is their source and the cuisine that is their match.
