Critical Acclaim

SP93 Wine Spectator Dec 15, 2019

"A creamy and harmonious version, with a fragrant skein of spice that unwinds through flavors of raspberry tart, lemon pastry cream, lime blossom and candied ginger. Lightly mouthwatering on the lingering, spiced finish. Disgorged July 2018. Drink now through 2024. 19,000 cases made, 800 cases imported." (93 pts.)

ST91 Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar Nov/Dec 2011

"Light yellow-gold. Orchard and pit fruits on the fragrant nose, with notes of chalky minerals and lees adding complexity. Taut and sharply focused, offering lively, mineral-accented pear and nectarine flavors that gain weight with aeration. Finishes bright and nervy, with very good clarity and length." (91 pts.)

WE94 Wine Enthusiast 12/1/2011

"Based on the 2006 vintage, this current release of Jacquesson’s nonvintage wine has richness and power, while tight acidity surrounds the core of pear and pineapple fruits. The touch of steel gives a great final bite." (94 pts.)

SP90 Wine Spectator Nov 30, 2010

"Fresh blossom aromas mingle with flavors of wild cherry, currant and whole-wheat toast in this lacy-textured Champagne. Drink now through 2013. 350 cases imported." (90 pts.)

RP91 Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate 1st Nov 2011

"The NV Brut Cuvee N° 734 comes across as tightly wound and focused. Lemon, hazelnuts, flowers and sweet dried herbs are some of the nuances that take shape in the glass in this focused, wiry Champagne. The Cuvee N° 734 is 54% Chardonnay, 26% Meunier and 20% Pinot Noir, based vintage 2006. This bottle was disgorged in the first quarter, 2011. Dosage was 3.5 grams per liter. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2015." (91 pts.)

Bring on the bubbly! Perhaps no other wine region in the world has the name recognition of Champagne, to the point where people often mistakenly use the word "Champagne" to describe any sparkling wine. Yet only wines produced within the region can legally be called "Champagne," and to this day it produces some of the finest sparkling wines known to earth.

The French did not invent winemaking. They simply perfected it. For centuries, France has been producing wines that inspire poetry, awe, and wonder; wines that blur the lines between nature, craftsmanship, cuisine and art. These are the wines that inspired cultures around the globe to follow in France’s footsteps, planting Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, Grenache, Merlot, Semillon and more.

Yet as often as they are emulated, the magic of their terroirs can never be duplicated. You may taste Cabernet from around the world, but perhaps none as elegant and regal as Bordeaux. You may try Pinot Noir or Chardonnay from various climates, but none with the earth-bound soul and ethereal reach of Burgundy.
