Critical Acclaim

SP95 Wine Spectator Jun 15, 2012

"This captures terrific ripeness, intensity and density with stunning mouthfeel, as layer upon layer of fig sauce, braised plum, cassis, cherry eau de vie and pastis glide along together, with notes of spice, ganache and graphite hanging in reserve. The very long finish has cut and precision, despite its weight. Should age effortlessly. Best from 2014 through 2035." (95 pts.)

RP94 Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate 1st Oct 2011

"The 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape from the domaine has turned out much better than I predicted last year. A blend of 70% Grenache and the rest Syrah, Counoise, Mourvedre and Cinsault from the very northern sectors of Chateauneuf du Pape, on terraces just north of Chateau Cabrieres and Domaine Mas de Boislauzon, this deep purple wine has a gorgeous nose of fresh blueberries and kirsch, with almost meaty, chewy richness, loads of glycerin, full body, stunning concentration and purity. It was bottled in May and should have 15 or more years of aging potential." (94 pts.)

ST92 Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar Jan/Feb 2012

"Vivid ruby. Powerful aromas of black and blue fruits, lavender and Indian spices, with an exotic touch of apricot. Deeply pitched blackberry and blueberry flavors show excellent concentration and vibrancy. Finishes sweet and seamless, with the blackberry and floral notes repeating." (92 pts.)

The French did not invent winemaking. They simply perfected it. For centuries, France has been producing wines that inspire poetry, awe, and wonder; wines that blur the lines between nature, craftsmanship, cuisine and art. These are the wines that inspired cultures around the globe to follow in France’s footsteps, planting Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, Grenache, Merlot, Semillon and more.

Yet as often as they are emulated, the magic of their terroirs can never be duplicated. You may taste Cabernet from around the world, but perhaps none as elegant and regal as Bordeaux. You may try Pinot Noir or Chardonnay from various climates, but none with the earth-bound soul and ethereal reach of Burgundy.
