    2021 / 750 ml. | Item#51647

A lot of floral delicacy and lemon and lime zest, but also some good white-peach fruit behind those high notes. Good depth on the mid-palate for the challenging vintage, with some wet-stone character at the long, crisp finish. Made from fruit grown on Kueka Lake and Seneca Lake. Drink or hold. Screw cap.

Delicately crafted from one of the Finger Lakes’s best known producers, this opens with a lifted aromas of white peach, lemon-lime and florals, with a honeyed underbelly. The palate is dry with a lofty line of laser-like, lemony acidity and a slightly chalky texture. Crying out flavorful fish dishes like spicy fish tacos or Thai red curry. (Christina Pickard)

The 2021 Dry Riesling comes in with eight grams per liter of residual sugar, 7.9 of total acidity and 12% alcohol. I haven’t been liking a lot of what I’m seeing from this vintage (to be sure, there haven’t been a lot of examples yet), but this seems awfully nice. Fresh, balanced and lively, this adds a juicy, tense finish, and the fruit occasionally asserts itself. It’s elegant in the mid-palate, dancing across the tongue. I’ll be interested to see if this can hold form or improve in a couple of years, but right now it is a fine choice at a nice price point. Of course, it is a serious Dry Riesling. If you like them sweeter or fruitier, this is not for you. (Mark Squires)

  2. Wagner Riesling Dry

    Estate Bottled
    2020 / 750 ml. | Item#2129

    RP9090 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 3rd Jun 2021
The 2020 Dry Riesling comes in with 4.7 grams per liter of residual sugar, seven grams of total acidity and 12.8% alcohol. Rich, ripe and fruity, this exuberant Dry Riesling lacks a bit of an edge on opening, but that is mostly about perception at the moment. That is, it seems lush, deep and luscious. It tastes great. The acidity is initially hidden, while this is more fruit driven at first. I suspect in time that perception will change a bit. As a test, I kept it open for another hour, and the acidity came through much more clearly. This is still very young and was only in bottle for about nine weeks when tasted. It looks like a winner. It is worth leaning up on this for the moment. (Mark Squires)

Bright lemony fruit mixes with lime zest and white blossoms in this zesty, dry Riesling. It offers vibrancy and lift thanks to juicy acidity, with a crushed stone note trailing off on the finish. (Alexander Peartree)

  5. Sheldrake Point Dry Riesling

    2020 / 750 ml. | Item#18597

    RP89+89+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate -
The 2020 Dry Riesling comes in with eight grams of residual sugar, 9.5 of total acidity and 11.9% alcohol. This is listed as dry, but it is a friendly "Dry Riesling," closer to medium-dry. Fruity, with much exuberance in it is youth, this is pretty delicious. It finishes with more sugar and fruit than evident structure. From what I am seeing, this is a fairly typical profile in 2020—a little less energy up front and hints of richness. I suspect the exuberant profile will calm down a bit with a year of age, allowing this more opportunity to show off its good structure. For the moment, let’s be a little conservative, but I think this will be better in a year. No matter what, this is very nicely priced. There were 577 cases produced. (Mark Squires)
