From the vineyards of Languedoc-Roussillion come these organic and biodynamic wines from Englishman Robert Eden who emigrated to France over 20 years ago. These wines are a terrific value and absolutely delicious for a Turkey dinner with all the sides.
RP9292 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 29th Apr 2014 Made from 100% Syrah, the 2012 Minervois Syrah Les Planels is impressive! Offering classic cassis, raspberry, licorice and hints of vanilla, it has fabulous purity, a lively, yet voluptuous and layered texture and a great finish. Hard to resist now, it should evolve gracefully for a solid 7–8 years.SP9090 pts. - Wine Spectator - Apr 30, 2016 There is a freshness behind the savory spice and meaty notes in this medium-bodied red, with bright red berry, plum and bitter chocolate flavors pushing through midpalate. RP91+91–93 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 29th Apr 2015 I loved the 2013 Minervois la Liviniere les Anciens, and this blend of 100% Carignan knocks it out of the park with its liquid violet, crushed rock, peppery herbs and fresh plum and berry fruits. Medium to full-bodied, with a seamless, elegant profile that the hallmark of the vintage, it has fine tannin and a great mid-palate. It should drink nicely on release and have 5–7 years of longevity.WS9090 pts. - Wine & Spirits - June 1, 2016 From vines planted in 1922, the fruit fermented in concrete tanks and open wooden vats, this is tough, tangy carignan, the fruit tart and red, like seedy raspberries laced with earthy spice. The tannin ropes through the wine like gristle in a steak, the wine chewy without being heavy. For carignan, it’s almost elegant.Premier SelectPremier Select wines are handpicked by our staff from amongst thousands of wines for their exceptional quality.
