    2012 / 750 ml. | Item#35538

    RP9191 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Nov 2013
As for the two red wines, the 2012 Bastide Miraflors is a blend of 70% Syrah and 30% Grenache aged in a combination of concrete tanks (for the Grenache) and demi-muids (for the Syrah). It went through a six week maceration, which no doubt explains the wine’s seriously intense fruit. Notes of violets, forest floor, black cherry jam and blackberries make an appearance in this medium-bodied, high-toned, dense, rich, complex, well-delineated red wine. Drink it over the next several years.

The 2015 Cotes du Roussillon Centenaire is a racy, medium-bodied blend of mostly Grenache Blanc (and Gris), with 20% Roussanne. Crushed rocks, mint, lime and citrus blossom are some of the nuances here, and it hits the palate with medium-bodied richness, beautiful purity of fruit and a clean, dry finish. It’s certainly an outstanding white to enjoy over the coming 2–3 years.

    RP90+90–92 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 29th Apr 2015
Aged in 25% demi-muids, the 2014 Cotes Catalanes Nicolas comes all from the rolling hills and gravel soils in the Aspres region and is made from 100% Grenache. What should represent an incredible value, it boasts fabulous notes of black raspberry, licorice and crushed violets to go with medium-bodied richness, fine tannin and a supple, pretty profile on the palate. This is far from an over-the-top fruit bomb and it has real class and elegance. Buy it by the case and drink it over the coming 2–3 years.

Clean, crisp and lively, with exotic notes of orange blossom, cherry blossom and hints of saline-like minerality, the 2016 Cote d’Est is medium-bodied, fresh and lively, with a clean, delicious style that will be versatile on the dinner table. This cuvee comes from the eastern portion of the Roussillon, just off the coast of the Mediterranean, and is a blend of 50% Grenache Blanc, 30% Chardonnay and the rest Roussanne, aged on lees in tank. It’s a terrific value.

Notes of cassis, toasted spice, chocolate and licorice all emerge from the 2015 Cotes du Roussillon Villages Lieu Dit La Narassa, which is 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah brought up in demi-muids. This hedonistic, downright sexy, ripe and layered beauty will drink nicely right out of the gate. It’s packaged in an ungodly heavy bottle that could substitute for a baseball bat.

    RP9090 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 27th Apr 2016
A custom cuvee created by importer Eric Solomon, the 2015 IGP Cotes Catalanes Novellum is a smokin’ value that’s made from 100% Chardonnay that spent three months in tank (on Viognier lees) followed by three months in barrel. Tasting like it cost three times the price, it offers lots of orchard fruits, white peach, honeysuckle and a hint of vanilla to go with a medium to full-bodied, crisp, yet still textured and mouth-filling style on the palate. You can’t go wrong at the price and this is a terrific wine to enjoy over the coming year or two.

    RP9292 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 28th Feb 2014
The only red presented at this tasting, the 2012 VDP Cotes Catalanes Tessellae is 100% old vine Carignan, aged ten months in concrete tank, that comes from vineyards in Maury and Les Aspres (both of which have schist soils). An old-world styled fruit-bomb, with its massive and decadently-styled blackberry fruit, spice, licorice and plum, this full-bodied effort has no hard edges, beautiful purity of fruit and a seamless texture that stays nicely focused and clean. Enjoy this sexy, voluptuous beauty over the coming 4–5 years (although I suspect it will last longer as well).

    2014 / 750 ml. | Item#36175

    RP9090 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Jul 2015
A stunning bargain from Lafage is the 2014 Tessellae Old Vines, a blend of 50% Grenache, 40% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre, all aged in concrete. Much of it comes from 70-year-old vines planted in limestone and clay soils. A delicious, dense ruby wine with notes of red and black cherries, earth, spice, pepper and a touch of Provençal garrigue. Fresh vibrant acidity is also present, and the wine is uncomplicated, but rich, fleshy and very well balanced. Drink it over the next 2–3 years.
