Try Something New Today! Orange wines
Orange wines are not made from oranges or citrus fruits. These wines -- which look orange! -- are the result of white grapes being left on their skins during the fermentation process. The result is a darker hue than you would normally see in a white wine. Some may even be a bit cloudy, because these are made without a lot of intervention.
What do they taste like? It's hard to explain, but they behave a little bit like a light red wine or dry rosé in that you may notice some tannin, which is unusual for a white wine. If you're a beer drinker, think of a sour-styled beer somewhat akin to a German hefeweizen or wheat beer. An orange wine can be fruity, but also with hints of tartness and texture.
