    JS9292 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Thursday, April 2, 2020
Very fresh, plummy fruit with black cherries. There is also a faint mineral, tarry character to the wine, making it more seductive. Medium-bodied with fresh acidity and firm tannin. A linear mouth feel. No obesity here. From organically grown grapes. Drink now or hold. Screw cap.

  2. Evodia

    2017 / 750 ml. | Item#31225

    RP9090 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 28th Dec 2018
The incredibly perfumed 2017 Evodia was true to its name, as apparently ’evodia’ means fragrant in the ancient Greek language. It had been bottled for a few months when I tasted it and it was very harmonious and expressive. They have reduced quantities and raised the price a bit, going into a different segment of the market, definitely a better wine than what I tasted from 2016. It achieved almost 15% alcohol in 2017, one of the earliest harvests of the last 20 years after some spring frosts and a very dry summer. Only 20% of the volume matured in barrel, while the rest was kept in concrete vats for six months. It’s very easy to drink, with unnoticeable tannins and a long, lingering finish. Super tasty and impressive for the price. 150,000 bottles were produced.

  3. Palacio del Burgo Rioja Crianza

    2015 / 750 ml. | Item#49092

    VN9090 pts. - Vinous - Feb 2019
Brilliant violet color. Fragrant, oak-spiced dark berries, cherry preserves and a hint of candied flowers on the nose. Blends depth and energy smoothly, offering ripe boysenberry, cherry-cola and coconut flavors and a touch of smokiness. Closes spicy, broad and long, with smooth tannins and lingering florality.
    SP8686 pts. - Wine Spectator - Web only – 2018
This plush red offers kirsch, plum and chocolate flavors that have a jammy character. Tangerine acidity keeps this lively, and leafy and licorice notes add interest. Tempranillo and Graciano. Drink now through 2021. 8,500 cases made, 1,500 cases imported.
    RP8585 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 28th Feb 2018
The 2015 Palacio del Burgo Crianza is pure Tempranillo with higher ripeness and more presence of oak, aged in new, second and third use American oak barrels with high toast for one year. I found this too oaky for my taste, and the aromas of coconut, smoke and vanilla dominate the nose. The palate revealed sweet tannins, round and lush with lots of balsamic flavors, hinting on mint and eucalyptus. For fans of oaky Rioja. 72,000 bottles produced.

  4. J. Wilkes Cabernet Sauvignon

    2017 / 750 ml. | Item#51534

    WS8888 pts. - Wine & Spirits - December 1, 2019
A high-toned acidity keeps this wine’s notes of ripe plum and fruit nectar in line and on point.
    VN8787 pts. - Vinous - Sep 2019
The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Paso Robles Highlands District is a bold, pungent wine. Savory herbs, tobacco and cedar add a strong aromatic presence. Although a very good wine, the Cabernet is not quite as compelling as the other wines in the range, while the savory style is on the edge of being distractingly vegetal.

  5. Château La Branne

    2016 / 750 ml. | Item#50502

    VN9090 pts. - Vinous - Oct 2018
The 2016 La Branne has a lovely, generous and pure bouquet with blackberry, raspberry and tobacco aromas that just burst from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannin, smooth in the mouth with a touch of white pepper and clove towards the quite complex finish. What a superb Médoc. Tasted at the Oenoconseil tasting room in Bordeaux.

  7. Kendall-Jackson Vintner’s Reserve Chardonnay

    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#35998

    WE9090 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 4/1/2020
Fruity, smooth and slightly spicy, this medium-bodied wine is a crowd-pleaser. Still one of the best Chardonnays with the broad California label designation, it offers delicious peach, ginger and vanilla flavors, and a good balance between ripeness and crispness.
    VN9090 pts. - Vinous - Apr 2020
The 2018 Chardonnay Vintner’s Reserve, the Kendall-Jackson flagship, is gorgeous. Pretty tropical accents add complexity to a core of citrus and floral notes. Orange confit, white and yellow flowers and mint all grace this delicious, inviting Chardonnay. This is such a pretty wine.

  12. Benanti Etna Rosso

    2017 / 750 ml. | Item#43678

    RP9191 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 17th Oct 2019
The 2017 Etna Rosso (made with 80% Nerello Mascalese and 20% Nerello Cappuccio) offers a very smoky and ashy bouquet that tells you, without any doubt, that this is a wine from the mighty Etna volcano. Rose petal and light berry aromas blur and soften the lines of those pretty mineral notes that are so strong at the beginning. Blue violets and blueberries are delicate accents that fill out the close. This vintage really pulls it all together nicely, a great pairing for pappardelle with wild chanterelle mushrooms. With 70,000 bottles made, this is an accessible wine offered at a great value.
    WE9191 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 1/1/2020
Smooth and bright, this boasts an earthy elegance, opening with aromas of wild berry, blue flower and Mediterranean herb that interlace with earthy whiffs of leather and game. The juicy, linear palate offers crushed red cherry, orange zest, star anise and white pepper alongside lithe tannins and lively acidity. It closes on a saline note. Drink through 2027.

  13. Domaine de la Madone Beaujolais-Villages Le Perreon

    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#49579

    RP9292 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Aug 2019
The dependably delicious 2018 Beaujolais-Villages Le Perreon doesn’t disappoint, bursting from the glass with aromas of cherries, wild berries, peonies and licorice. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, charming and enveloping, with a generous and juicy core of fruit, melting tannins and a flavorful finish. This is a terrific value that’s well worth seeking out.
    VN9090 pts. - Vinous - Oct 2019
Bright purple. Fresh and energetic on the nose, featuring cherry and dark berry liqueur qualities and a smoky mineral topnote. Shows very good clarity and thrust on the palate, offering bitter cherry and cassis flavors that become sweeter on the back half. Displays sharp delineation on the nicely persistent finish, which features youthfully grippy tannins and a suggestion of bitter chocolate.

  15. Castello di Neive Barbaresco

    2017 / 750 ml. | Item#49942

    WE9494 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 10/1/2020
Ripe wild berry, violet and camphor aromas lead the way on this full-bodied, inviting red. On the savory palate, assertive, close-grained tannins accompany dried cherry, blood orange and licorice before closing on a hint of coffee bean. Drink 2022–2027.
    VN9191 pts. - Vinous - Oct 2020
The 2017 Barbaresco is a terrific wine to drink now and over the next decade or so. Ample and creamy, the 2017 is so inviting. Sweet red cherry, crushed flowers, mint, cedar, rose petal and blood orange give the 2017 an exotic character that is so appealing. Another year or two in bottle will help the tannins soften. This is nicely done.
