Similar to 2018, vintage 2019 in Napa Valley was superb and it’s demonstrated with this amazing iteration of Scattered Peaks. Leading with an inviting dark color profile on the appearance, the aromas are filled with bold black and red fruit notes. On the palate, expect nuances of black cherry, ripe plum and wild berry coupled with cassis, violet and dark cocoa flavor tones. The tannins are soft and velvety providing ample texture and ending with a lingering finish.

Critical Acclaim
RP89Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate 31st May 2022
"You could do a lot worse than this when trying to find a decent Napa Cab for less than $50. Scattered Peaks’s 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon, from winemaker Joel Aiken (ex BV) features scents of cherries and cassis, plus hints of sage, cedar and vanilla. In the mouth, this medium to full-bodied Cabernet is a bit firmer and more obviously tannic than most yet with a silky feel and lingering finish. (Joe Czerwinski)" (89 pts.)

"Mulberries, blackberries, plum stones, bay leaves, licorice and lemon zest on the nose. Full-bodied with firm, tea-like tannins. Focused and tight. Better in 2024." (91 pts.)

When it comes to US wine production, California is King. California wines account for almost 90% of all wines produced in the United States each year, and is home to the most celebrated vineyards and producers in the country. California is probably best known for its world-famous Cabernets and Chardonnays, many of which hail from its two most-acclaimed AVAs, Napa Valley and Sonoma County. Other prominent grapes used in California wines include Merlot, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, and Zinfandel (which California made popular).
The United States now ranks fourth in the world in wine production behind, France, Italy, and Spain. While about 90% of that wine is produced in California, other states like Oregon, New York, and Washington are establishing themselves as prime spots for wine production, as well. Just about any variety of wine can be found in production somewhere in the United States.
