A lusciously smoky and tobacco-like initial aroma; after aeration the bouquet features semisweet to sweet notes of honey, pipe tobacco, sherry, honey, and dark chocolate. The palate entry is smooth and caramel sweet; at midpalate the smokiness comes alive with additional tastes of sweet butter, toffee and honey. Finishes in a rush of smoke, charcoal and ash.

Honey-amber color and a big butterscotch aroma. Intriguingly dry and earthy, with leather, tobacco, dark chocolate and clove flavors, which accelerate with repeated sips and linger on. Add ice if you must, but avoid watering down this delicious after-dinner treat, which would be even better accompanied by a well-selected dark chocolate or two.

Aged in a series of barrels — first American oak, then transferred to a former oloroso Sherry cask and finished in used Cabernet Sauvignon barriques — this Scotch would be an outstanding dessert accompaniment too. Look for dusty cocoa and lots of Sherried dark fruit, like figs and dates, wrapped in caramel and baking tones that linger on the spicy finish.

Aged in a mix of American white oak barrels, oloroso casks, and cabernet sauvignon barriques. Sherry, vanilla, caramel, ripe cherries, and sultanas on the nose. The palate yields characteristic Dalmore orange, plus brittle toffee, bitter chocolate, and cherry liqueur. Spicy licorice and soft oak in the finish.
