Critical Acclaim

SP94 Wine Spectator Jun 30, 2016

"This rich red is plush and deep, with a firm backbone and balsamic acidity imparting focus. The plum, currant, loamy earth and licorice flavors are deep and harmonious. Deceptively approachable, with plenty of concentration. Drink now through 2026. 3,300 cases made." (94 pts.)

JS92 Thursday, December 1, 2016

"Not much on the nose but it’s still full-bodied, showing good structure and fine tannins. The finish is long and salty with cedary notes coming from the oak use. Lots of chocolate and dark-berry character. Drink now or hold." (92 pts.)

RP91 Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate 29th Oct 2015

"There are notes of coal and graphite in the 2011 Valderiz, under which there is a nice layer of violets, ripe plums, dark cherries and cassis, nicely integrated. The palate has good stuffing, lively tannins and moderate acidity. It could do with a little more freshness, though. 35,000 bottles." (91 pts.)

The picturesque countryside of Spain is littered with vineyards large and small, and offers up some of the best value available on the wine market today. You can consistently fine critically-acclaimed Spanish wines selling for less than their counterparts from other wine-producing countries. The Rioja and Ribera del Duero regions are most famous, and there's nowhere else in the world where you'll find as many world-class Tempranillos.
