    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#49579

    RP9292 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Aug 2019
The dependably delicious 2018 Beaujolais-Villages Le Perreon doesn’t disappoint, bursting from the glass with aromas of cherries, wild berries, peonies and licorice. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, charming and enveloping, with a generous and juicy core of fruit, melting tannins and a flavorful finish. Bright purple. Fresh and energetic on the nose, featuring cherry and dark berry liqueur qualities and a smoky mineral topnote. Shows very good clarity and thrust on the palate, offering bitter cherry and cassis flavors that become sweeter on the back half. Displays sharp delineation on the nicely persistent finish, which features youthfully grippy tannins and a suggestion of bitter chocolate.

    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#50210

    RP9494 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 29th May 2020
Bottled only a week before I tasted it, Alain Coudert’s 2019 Fleurie from the Clos de la Roilette is showing beautifully, wafting from the glass with aromas of rose petals, red cherries, raspberries, spices and orange rind. Medium to full-bodied, deep and velvety, it’s elegant and fine-boned, with lively acids, refined structuring tannins and a long, perfumed finish. Readers who gravitate toward classical styles of Beaujolais will prefer the 2019 to the richer, more gourmand 2018, but both are lovely vintages for this reference-point address.

    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#51782

    VN9393 pts. - Vinous - Oct 2019
Shimmering, youthful purple. Mineral-accented cherry and black raspberry aromas are underscored by a spicy element that builds as the wine opens up. Sappy and focused on the palate, offering appealingly sweet dark berry and spicecake flavors along with complicating suggestions of licorice and candied violet. The spice and floral notes build steadily through an impressively long, smooth finish, which is framed by harmonious tannins that fold slowly into the wine’s intense fruit. Many of these vines are over a century old now.
    RP9191 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Aug 2019
Aromas of cherries, raspberries, fresh herbs and licorice introduce the 2018 Régnié, a medium to full-bodied, satiny and elegant wine that’s open-knit and charming, with melting tannins and succulent acids. It spent six months in used wooden barrels. It’s only 12.5% alcohol even in this ripe vintage.

  14. Jean-Louis Dutraive Domaine de la Grand’Cour Brouilly

    Cuvée Vieilles Vignes
    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#49785

    VN9494 pts. - Vinous - Oct 2019
Lurid violet color. A complex, penetrating bouquet evokes fresh cherry and black raspberry, along with building floral, spice and earth notes. Stains the palate with sweet red/blue fruit, lavender and spicecake flavors that deepen and spread out slowly on the back half. Conveys a suave blend of richness and energy and closes extremely long and juicy, with harmonious tannins and resonating florality.
    RP9191 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Aug 2019
The 2018 Brouilly Cuvée Vieilles Vignes displays aromas of cherries, red berries, candied peel and spices, followed by a medium to full-bodied palate that leads with a satiny attack, quickly segueing into a firmer, more structured mid-palate and finish that’s quite unlike Dutraive’s wines from Fleurie, though it shares their charm and drinkability in its more burly, muscular register.

Brilliant magenta. A hugely perfumed bouquet evokes ripe red berries, cherry preserves, candied violet and exotic spices, along with a vibrant mineral nuance that expands with air. Stains the palate with sweet, penetrating raspberry, cherry, mulberry and floral pastille flavors that display a suave blend of power and delicacy. The spicy note comes back on an extremely long, floral-dominated finish that’s given shape by smooth, harmonious tannins.
