Located near Burgundy, France; Beaujolais wine region is one of the most historic regions in the world. Originally cultivated by the Romans in the 7th century along a busy trade route, Beaujolais has weathered the test of time. For centuries it has been looked after and cultivated right up until today, as it sits in the hands of some of France’s top vintners.

Beaujolais began its ascent to superiority in the world wine market in the 1980’s when serious wine critics and drinkers realized the potential of the stellar Beaujolais Nouveau; also the main product of this region. It is created with the fruity, strong and abundant Gamay Noir grape. Beaujolais Nouveau will have very bright, fresh, red fruit flavors, such as cherry, strawberry, and raspberry allowing for an extremely refreshing experience with every sip. Purchase Beaujolais wines and experience the rich history and flavor for yourself!

The blackest cherries you can imagine here, but its startlingly fresh. Still very young, but with a fabulously silky texture and delicate minerality that underlines the ravishing fruit beautifully. Very long, cool and stony finish that is so inspiring. Drink or hold.
    RP9494 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 29th May 2020
The 2019 Morgon Côte du Py has turned out beautifully, delivering an inviting nose of smoky black cherries, cassis and licorice. Medium to full-bodied, bright and lively, it’s deep and concentrated, with a fleshy core of fruit underpinned by tangy acids. This is another of Burgaud’s real successes this year.

The 2019 Morgon Côte du Py, bottled in July 2020 after aging in concrete, has an airy, much more floral bouquet than the Grand Cras, pressed iris petals and potpourri emerging with time. The medium-bodied palate delivers fine, edgy tannins, just the tight amount of bitterness and a cohesive, pure and peppery finish that lingers long in the mouth. Superb.

    RP9292 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 19th Aug 2021
The 2020 Beaujolais-Villages Le Perréon is another fine success, wafting from the glass with beautifully pure aromas of cherries, raspberries, plums and peonies. Medium to full-bodied, ample and succulent, with supple tannins and an enveloping core of juicy fruit, it’s refreshing and gourmand. This head-turning bistro red is already drinking well.

  5. Jean-Marc Burgaud Les Vignes de Lantignié

    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#53150

    RP9292 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 29th May 2020
Offering up pretty aromas of blackberries, peonies and subtle forest floor, the 2019 Beaujolais-Villages Les Vignes de Lantignié is medium to full-bodied, velvety and enveloping, with lively acids, velvety tannins and a long, mouthwatering finish. As usual, this saw a short six- or seven-day maceration with whole clusters, followed by élevage in cement tank. Once again, Burgaud has produced a characterful and viscerally drinkable Beaujolais-Villages that exemplifies all the merits — as well as the incredible value — offered by the appellation at its best.

Lovely forest-berry and black-cherry aromas gently introduce you to this medium-bodied beauty that has just enough tannin to be gently warming and properly dry. Very good minerality, spice and length. A good argument for giving Lantignié Beaujolais Cru status. Drink or hold.

  6. Clos de la Roilette Fleurie

    2020 / 750 ml. | Item#50210

    RP9393 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 19th Aug 2021
Wafting from the glass with aromas of raspberries, plums, rose petals and sweet spices, the 2020 Fleurie is medium to full-bodied, ample and layered, with a fleshy core of fruit, fine tannins and succulent acids, concluding with a perfumed finish. After the ethereal, classically proportioned 2019, the 2020 represents a return to the richer register that followers of this estate will remember from recent vintages, such as 2018, 2017 and 2015.
    VN9393 pts. - Vinous - Aug 2021
Vivid ruby. Spice-accented red and dark berries on the perfumed nose, along with smoky mineral and floral accents. Sappy, penetrating raspberry and boysenberry flavors show fine definition and spicy cut. In a concentrated yet lively style, finishing long and gently sweet, with a repeating berry note and polished tannins adding gentle grip.

  7. Clos de la Roilette Fleurie Cuvée Tardive

    2021 / 750 ml. | Item#57966

    RP9494 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 22nd Sep 2022
Fans of old-school Beaujolais will adore the 2021 Fleurie Cuvée Tardive from the Clos de la Roilette. Bursting with aromas of crunchy red berries, peonies, spices and plums, it’s medium-bodied, ample and enveloping, with succulent acids, melting tannins and a pretty, perfumed finish. Despite the challenges of the year, the Coudert family have produced a lovely classic, and it’s a wine that’s much more drinkable and vibrant than some of the recent banner vintages at this address. 8. Domaine des Billards Saint-Amour Clos des Billards

    Réserve Caveau
    2015 / 750 ml. | Item#55333

    RP94+94+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 22nd Sep 2018
The 2015 Saint-Amour Clos des Billards is very successful, revealing a brooding bouquet of black cherries, mulberries and rich soil tones. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, layered and super concentrated, with an ample core of rich, ripe fruit underpinned by good balancing acids. It will need bottle age to resolve all its serious structure, but it’s an immensely promising young Saint-Amour. (William Kelley)
