Rhone Valley is one of the most ancient regions in the world in terms of grape vine cultivation and wine production. With most historians saying that Rhone Valley was first planted in its Northern section around the first century, it is easy to taste the history within every lively sip of wine from this area.

Perhaps the top Rhone Valley wines are its exquisite reds, particularly its beautiful and full Syrahs. After the Syrah, Rhone is also a major producer of light, refreshing Rosés and many beautiful, unforgettable blends like Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Rhone Valley also has a great selection of white wines. RP8989 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 25th Jun 2014
Solomon’s custom cuvee, the 2013 Cotes du Rhone Andezon, was aged totally in concrete vats. It reveals a dense ruby/purple color as well as lots of smoky, frying lard-like notes intermixed with notions of blackberries and cassis. Solomon calls it his “southern Cornas-based” wine. That’s not hyperbole. This medium-bodied effort has been helped by the addition of 10% Grenache, which provides additional flesh. It is a killer value to drink over the next 1–2 years.
    SP8787 pts. - Wine Spectator - Nov 15, 2014
Ripe and fleshy in feel, this offers good weight to the plum and blackberry fruit, with a fruitcake-accented finish. Lacks range, but remains tasty enough. Drink now. 6,000 cases imported.

    2004 / 750 ml. | Item#23282

    RP91+91–93 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 1st Feb 2006
As for the 2004 Chateauneuf du Pape a la Gloire de Mon Grandpere, this wine has a classic Grenache nose of kirsch liqueur, licorice, spice box, and some resiny notes. It is deep, rich, moderately ruby in color, but has loads of glycerin and, I suspect, the highest alcohol level of this trio. It should be the easiest to drink young, yet seemingly has 12–14 years of aging potential ahead of it.

    SP9292 pts. - Wine Spectator - Oct 31, 2016
This has a lovely mix of yellow apple and white peach fruit flavors inlaid with verbena, quinine and lemon shortbread notes. The richness is offset by a stony echo. Drink now through 2018. 2,000 cases made.
    RP9090 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 28th Oct 2016
The impressive 2015 Châteauneuf du Pape Les Hauts de Barville Blanc is based on Grenache Blanc, Clairette and Bourboulenc, and was brought up all in stainless steel. This medium-bodied, elegant and lively white offers exotic notes of chamomile, white peach, mint and spice. It too will drink nicely for 2–3 years.
    VN9090 pts. - Vinous - Jun 2017
Pale gold. Lively, mineral-accented aromas of orange zest, green apple and jasmine pick up a deeper pit fruit nuance with air. Nervy citrus and orchard fruit flavors show good depth but come off lithe thanks to a vein of juicy acidity. Sappy and focused on the finish, which lingers with bright, mineral-driven persistence.

Relatively open knit and ready to go, the 2015 Châteauneuf du Pape Les Hauts de Barville offers outstanding notes of cherries, spring flowers, spice and Provençal garrigue in a full-bodied, rounded, already hard to resist style. It is a killer wine to drink over the coming 4–6 years.
