Shop for Top Oregon Pinot Noirs and more

Oregon is most famous for its Pinot Noirs, the wine that put Oregon on the map. Thanks in part to this grape, the number of Oregon’s wineries increased from 5 in 1970 to 453 in 2009

The majority of Oregon wine production is centered in the Willamette Valley AVA, around and south of Portland. Other AVAs of consequence to the south are Red Hill Douglas County, Rogue Valley and Applegate Valley, and, in eastern Oregon, bordering Idaho, the Snake River Valley, with a more continental climate. Pinot Noir is, by far, the most planted and successful varietal, followed by Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and Syrah.

  1. Aeris Pinot Noir

    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#46109

    WS8888 pts. - Wine & Spirits - 04/21
With a dark display of fruit, plum and ripe black cherry, this wine borders on extravagant, but the fruit is kept reined in with chocolaty tannins. It over delivers for the price.

    VN9090 pts. - Vinous - Jun 2019
Glimmering red. Spice-accented red fruit and rose oil on the nose, along with notes of white pepper, allspice and musky earth. Juicy and focused in the mouth, offering bitter cherry and red berry flavors with a touch of medicinal bitterness. Turns sweeter with air and shows very good energy on the persistent finish, which is firmed by dusty, fine-grained tannins that fold smoothly into the wine’s fruit.

  5. Et Fille Kalita Vineyard Pinot Noir

    2015 / 750 ml. | Item#51371

    SP8888 pts. - Wine Spectator - Web only – 2018
Trim and demure, with raspberry and green tea flavors. Drink now through 2023. 294 cases made.
    RP8686 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st Aug 2018
Pale to medium ruby-purple, the 2015 Pinot Noir Kalita Vineyard has an herbal nose of bay leaves, undergrowth and eucalyptus over Bing cherries and red licorice. Light to medium-bodied, it’s lacking a bit of intensity on the palate, geared more toward the herbal notes, with good freshness but drying tannins, dropping off a bit on the finish. 290 cases produced.

  6. Shea Wine Cellars Estate Pinot Noir

    Shea Vineyard
    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#47042

    JS9393 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Thursday, January 30, 2020
There’s robust, dark-fruit focus here with cherries and blackberries, as well as spiced-chocolate notes. The palate has a very succulent and juicy feel with bright, fresh tannins, delivering a fresh, lively and very velvety finish. Drink or hold.
    VN9292 pts. - Vinous - Aug 2020
Deep magenta. Spice-laced red and dark berry, cherry cola and floral pastille scents take on a savory herb quality with air. Shows very good depth and breadth on the palate, which offers appealingly sweet red and blue fruit preserve, mocha and black tea flavors and a hint of allspice. Gains energy with air and repeats the floral note on a long, gently tannic finish that leaves a bitter cherry note behind.

    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#56727

    JS9393 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Sunday, August 22, 2021
A pretty nose of cherries, dried herbs, smoke and spices. It’s medium-bodied with plush tannins. Plenty of fruit on the palate with a chalky texture. Spicy and flavorful finish. Drink now or hold.
    SP9292 pts. - Wine Spectator - Dec 15, 2021
Shows youthful bravado, with a sinewy tension framed by notes of plum, dusky spice and earthy minerality that finish with medium-grain tannins. Drink now through 2028. 2,225 cases made.
    WE9292 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 3/1/2021
A fine value, this aromatic young wine is packed with plush fruit flavors of berries, plums and cherries. The fruit sits comfortably on a pedestal of citrus, and finishes with light, but sufficient tannins. A hint of Bergamot tea comes up as they fade.
    VN9090 pts. - Vinous - Feb 2022
Saturated ruby-red. Blueberry, cherry and licorice on the nose, along with subtle spice and floral accents. In a plush, open-knit style, showing good depth to the vaguely jammy red and blue fruit preserve flavors. The spice quality returns on the gently tannic finish, which lingers with good persistence.

    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#47041

    VN9090 pts. - Vinous - Aug 2020
Glistening ruby-red. Ripe red and dark berries, cherry-cola and a hint of allspice on the perfumed nose. Pliant cherry and black raspberry flavors show good energy and pick up a hint of smokiness on the back half. Plush and seamless in texture, with lingering floral and spice notes on the long, subtly tannic finish.
    WE9090 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 1/1/2020
Fruit sourced from six Willamette Valley AVAs and well over a dozen vineyards combines in this sweetly fruity wine. Pretty plum and marionberry flavors are enhanced with a light touch of herbs, putting a frame around the finish.

Dark garnet. Intense red and blue fruit, potpourri and cola scents show fine definition and spicy lift. Palate-coating raspberry, boysenberry, spicecake and floral pastille flavors tighten up steadily through the back half. Finishes smooth and long, with sneaky tannins and lingering red fruit and spice notes.
