Amici Napa Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 / 750 ml.

Item#: 54028

JS9494 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Monday, March 6, 2023
Aromas of blackcurrants, iodine, oyster shell, and dark chocolate. Medium- to full-bodied with polished fine tannins that run the length of the wine with chocolate, hazelnut, and blueberries. Give it time to come together. Better after 2025. (James Suckling)
JD90+90–92 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 2/16/2023
The base 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley should certainly be outstanding. It offers classic darker cassis and cherry fruits, some graphite and chocolate nuances, medium to full body, and a plush, rounded, yet concentrated profile on the palate. (Jeb Dunnuck)
RP90+90–92 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st Mar 2023
At “only” $50, Amici’s 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon is a relative bargain in the rarefied air of Napa Valley Cabs. At this point in its 18 months of élevage (tasted in November 2022), it’s cedary but backed by ample cassis and blueberry fruit. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it’s smooth, silky, and streamlined from front to back, with a lingering finish and mouthwatering berries that balance out the soft tannins and mocha overtones. (Joe Czerwinski)
VN90+90–92 pts. - Vinous - Feb 2023
The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) is plump, juicy and super-expressive. A burst of dark cherry, plum, incense, tobacco and dried herbs race across the palate. Pliant and dense, with striking depth, the Napa Valley Cabernet is shaping up to be a winner (Antonio Galloni)

When it comes to US wine production, California is King. California wines account for almost 90% of all wines produced in the United States each year, and is home to the most celebrated vineyards and producers in the country. California is probably best known for its world-famous Cabernets and Chardonnays, many of which hail from its two most-acclaimed AVAs, Napa Valley and Sonoma County. Other prominent grapes used in California wines include Merlot, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, and Zinfandel (which California made popular).

A cab with lots of currant and blackberry aromas with some fresh herbs such as sage and lead pencil character. Lots of crushed stone and cement as well. Medium to full body. Firm and polished, Extremely long and vivid. A blend of Hudson, Morisoli, and George III. Shows the magic of 2021. Needs two or three years to soften and come together. (James Suckling)
JD93+93–95 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 2/16/2023
Always a beautiful wine, as well as one of the best values out there, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve offers lots of chocolaty red and blue fruits as well as medium to full body, an elegant, perfectly balanced mouthfeel, classic Cabernet spice, leather, and dried herbs, and a great finish. It shows the quality of the vintage and will be a no-brainer purchase. (Jeb Dunnuck)
VN91+91–94 pts. - Vinous - Feb 2023
The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve marries energy and depth. In most vintages, the Reserve is an under the radar gem. The 2021 is another terrific example. Bright acids and beams of tannin run through a core of dark fruit. Mocha, tobacco, cedar, licorice and chocolate linger. The 2021 is a bit firm, but time in bottle should take care of that. Once again, the Reserve looks like it will be one of the stars in this range. (Antonio Galloni)
