Ramey Pedregal Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 / 750 ml.

Item#: 41808

RP97+97+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 29th Dec 2014
As usual, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Pedregal Vineyard is a great wine (a 650-case blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon and 12% Petit Verdot). This sexy, full-throttle, opaque purple-colored 2012 boasts fabulous concentration along with copious notes of pen ink, blueberries, blackberries, and hints of graphite and espresso bean. Deep, full-bodied and multidimensional, this sensational Cabernet should drink well for 20–25 years.
SP9595 pts. - Wine Spectator - Oct 31, 2015
This features a deep, exotic streak of melted black licorice amid layers of blackberry and wild berry, supported by firm, fine-grained tannins and hints of espresso and graphite. Most impressive on the long, sustained finish that keeps repeating the core flavor themes. Drink now through 2028. 650 cases made.

A deep, layered wine, Dalla Valle’s 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon possesses fabulous richness and texture to match its rich contours. Silky tannins shape the succulent finish in a Cabernet Sauvignon that captures the very best of the vintage. Sweet red cherry, plum, spice, new leather and mocha are laced into the exotic, voluptuous finish. Today, the 2012 speaks to polish above all else. This is a stunning 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon.
RP9494 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Oct 2014
The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon (virtually all Cabernet Sauvignon) exhibits rich blackcurrant, forest floor, unsmoked cigar tobacco, and hints of licorice and new barriques. Dominated by its fruit, this full-bodied, plush, opulent wine is a seamless, classic example of hillside Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. It can be drunk early, but should age effortlessly for two decades or more.

RP9595 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 27th Aug 2015
Probably the longest-lived wine in the vintage from Santa Barbara, Jonata’s 630-case 2012 El Desafio de Jonata checks in as a blend of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Cabernet Franc, 15% Petit Verdot and 5% Merlot that saw 80% new French oak. It reveals a masculine, meaty, structured personality as well as rockin’ notes of blackcurrants, wood smoke, lead pencil shavings and crushed rock. Full-bodied, balanced and with building tannic grip, it still shows the suppleness of the vintage, but needs 2–3 years to even start to be drinkable. It will have 2–3 decades of longevity.
VN9494 pts. - Vinous - Aug 2015
The Cabernet Sauvignon-based 2012 El Desafio de Jonata graces the palate with its sensual personality. Raspberry jam, pomegranate, leather, smoke, spice and tobacco all blossom in the glass. Big, rich and inviting, the 2012 boasts superb intensity and resonance, although it doesn’t quite have the visceral thrill of the very best wines in this range. Shades of rose petal and mint add the closing shades of nuance. The 2012 was aged in French oak, 80% new.

Dalla Valle Maya | Napa Valley Red Wine 2012 / 750 ml.

Napa Valley Red Wine
2012 / 750 ml.

Item #: 41402

VN98+98+ pts. - Vinous - Dec 2014
Aromatic lift, precision and intensity are the signatures of the 2012 Maya. Savory herbs, mint, violets, spices and red cherry jam are woven together in an intricate fabric of flavors and textures that captivate all the senses. Pure power and finesse are rarely found together to this degree. Readers who can find the 2012 are in for a real treat. This is an utterly magnificent Maya.
VN98+98+ pts. - Vinous - Oct 2015
The 2012 Maya is surprisingly deep and powerful in this vintage, with none of the early appeal of the estate’s other 2012s. Today, the Maya is dark and brooding, with tons of intensity to match its massive, virile personality. Readers will have to be patient, but the 2012 is a special wine that much is clear.
RP9898 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Oct 2014
Dalla Valle was the first winery to demonstrate what heights Cabernet Franc could reach in the valley with their Maya proprietary blend, which averages 50–55% Cabernet Franc and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2012 Maya is a spectacular offering. I recently had the 1991 (made by Tony Soter) and it is still drinking exceptionally well. In fact, it could still be called an adolescent at 23 years of age. The 2012 Maya is already revealing great complexity with notes of forest floor, licorice, truffles, red and blackcurrants and a hint of graphite. The beautiful aromatics are followed by an equally majestic, full-bodied, multidimensional wine of great class and elegance. This sensational effort should drink well for 25–30 years.

From a site farmed by the Martinelli family to the producer’s specifications, this white is quenching in a depth of acidity, with cool-climate freshness throughout. Gravenstein apple, clove, Meyer lemon and nutmeg provide a lush richness that finishes elegantly balanced.
JD9494 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - May 21, 2020
Seeing 20 months in 20% new barrels, the 2017 Chardonnay Woolsey Road Vineyard offers plenty of brioche and white flower nuances to go with rocking levels of Meyer lemon and tart pineapple fruit. It’s rich, concentrated, and powerful on the palate, yet also has a racy spine of acidity that just about hits the tart level, yet never goes over the edge. This rocking Russian River Valley Chardonnay is going to benefit from 2–3 years of bottle age and keep for over a decade. It’s beautiful but needs short-term cellaring. (Jeb Dunnuck)
VN9494 pts. - Vinous - Apr 2020
The 2017 Chardonnay Woolsey Road Vineyard is a racy wine endowed with terrific richness. Lemon confit, white flowers, mint and tropical overtones all grace this unctuous, deeply layered Chardonnay. The balance of textural intensity and freshness is simply compelling. The 2017 is so expressive today.
SP9494 pts. - Wine Spectator - Aug 31, 2020
Taut, with focused green apple, Asian pear and honeydew melon flavors, backed by vibrant acidity. Savory midpalate, leading to a finish filled with lemon meringue notes and minerally richness. Best from 2022 through 2026. 769 cases made.
RP93+93+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 23rd Jul 2020
The 2017 Chardonnay Woolsey Road Vineyard is savory and earthy with notes of roasted almonds, graphite, mushroom powder and a hint of honeycomb. The medium to full-bodied palate’s expansive, silky character is contrasted by tangy acidity and rocky minerality, finishing very long and pure. It will benefit from another two to three years in bottle. 769 cases produced.

This is a great appellation wine blended with small amounts of Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Cedar, char and celery salt accent tight, refined tannins that grip the palate with intense flavor and texture. Black currant, crushed rock and a hint of toasted oak also contribute. This is a compelling coastal varietal wine, inviting on the nose in forest pine, white pepper and subtle red fruit. Cofermented with 14% Viognier, the grapes were grown at Cole Creek and Rodgers Creek vineyards. The silky, supple texture shows the potential to age. Enjoy best from 2029–2039. (Virginie Boone)

Co-fermented with 13% Viognier, the 2019 Syrah Sonoma Coast has intense aromas of red and black currants, game meats, green olive and coffee beans plus a waft of eucalyptus. The medium-bodied palate is approachable and nuanced with grainy tannins and seamless freshness as it moves through the mouth, and it has a long, juicy finish. From a site in the heart of the appellation farmed by the Martinelli family, from cuttings that can be traced back to Hyde Vineyard, this white dazzles in salty sea air, oyster shell and hay, with subdued richness and layers of Gravenstein apple and pear. The acidity drives it into a fresh array of tension and texture.
RP9595 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 3rd Jun 2021
The 2018 Chardonnay Woolsey Road Vineyard was aged 20 months in 25% new French oak. It’s a lovely, mineral-driven style, with scents that segue from iodine and dashi to spiced apples and quince. The palate is silky, featherweight and minerally, finishing very long and lifted. 540 cases were made.
