Item#: 41531

WS9090 pts. - Wine & Spirits - 04/23
Generous in its dark plummy fruit and coffee’d oak frame, this merlot has a pleasing austerity to its firm dried-berry depths. It needs food; pour with a steak.
SP8787 pts. - Wine Spectator - Nov 15, 2023
A perky red, with medium-bodied currant and plum flavors that draw in espresso and mocha accents. Drink now through 2027. 167,000 cases made. (Tim Fish)

The United States now ranks fourth in the world in wine production behind, France, Italy, and Spain. Tobacco leaf, rose and black cherry on the nose. Medium-bodied with silky tannins. Transparent and earnest with bright acidity and rounded fruit. Balanced, with presence and length. Vegan. 43% merlot, 23% cabernet sauvignon, 17% syrah, 7% malbec, 4% cabernet franc, 3% petit verdot, 1% souzao, 1% touriga and 1% tinta cao. Drink or hold. (James Suckling)

Spiced plum, sandalwood, dried herbs, tobacco, and leather notes all emerge from the 2019 Red Mountain, a round, supple, nicely balanced, complex Red Mountain release. I like its balance, it has tons of character, and should keep for a solid decade. The blend is 43% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Syrah, 4% Cabernet Franc, 7% Malbec, and the rest a mix of other varieties. (Jeb Dunnuck)

The nose on this wine is like a mixed berry pie filled with blueberries, blackberries and raspberries. There’s also traces of loam, wet lawn grass and spearmint. The palate is packed with cherry-vanilla cola and sweet oak flavors, plus a blueberry-yogurt note showing up on the finish. Tannins are resolved and the acidity is tame. (Michael Alberty)

RP9090 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 11th May 2023
A delightful wine, the 2020 Chardonnay Indian Wells Vineyard is oaky and pomaceous fruit driven with classic elements of pastry cream, sweet citrus and yellow apple with components of pear skin and almond butter. Medium to full-bodied, the wine offers a bright and juicy frame with a succulent freshness and oak essence before displaying a delightful and round texture that is food-friendly. The wine ends with a focused finish that lingers persistently and will drink well over the next 4 to 5 years. 75,000 cases were produced after the wine aged sur lie for10 months in 27% new oak.
