The wine is a lovely transparent ruby color. The aromas are dominated by ripe red cherries, blueberries, hints of cranberry with overtones of wild mountain meadow herbs and wild flowers. The flavors add raspberries to the cherries, with some orange pith, coffee and mocha. The wine’s mouthfeel is filling and supple. The acidity gives it a nice zing, to compliment a moderately long finish and make this very food friendly. This supple pinot would pair well with fatty fish like salmon or tuna, and has enough acid to go with curries, roasted and herbed mushrooms or even grilled meats, especially pork, with barbeque sauce.

Critical Acclaim
RP87Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate 29th Jun 2016
"The 2014 Bench Lands Pinot Noir comes from several vineyards and had been bottled for one month. It has attractive brambly red berry fruit on the nose, the 20% new oak nicely integrated. The palate is medium-bodied, smooth in the mouth with tart red cherry and red plum notes, a little savoury in the mouth with a gentle finish. Enjoy this easy-going Pinot over the next 4–5 years." (87 pts.)
WE88Wine Enthusiast 12/1/2017
"This good-value wine done in a light and lovely style offers flavors of red berries and cherry cola highlighted by toasted hazelnuts. A touch of café crème leads into a softly focused finish." (88 pts.)

When people think of Oregon, they think of Pinot Noir. And rightfully so! The region has been producing some of the finest Pinot Noirs in the world for decades now. The region's cool climate produced by the cooling nature of the Pacific Ocean also lends itself to other grapes such as Pinot Gris and Chardonnay. It's made up of several subregions, the most important and well-known being the Willamette Valley. Great wines are also coming from the Rogue Valley, Walla Walla, and Columbia Valley.
The United States now ranks fourth in the world in wine production behind, France, Italy, and Spain. While about 90% of that wine is produced in California, other states like Oregon, New York, and Washington are establishing themselves as prime spots for wine production, as well. Just about any variety of wine can be found in production somewhere in the United States.
