Bellum El Remate 2005 / 500 ml.

Item#: 27044

ST9090 pts. - Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar - Sep/Oct 2008
Deep ruby. Cherry and blueberry jam on the nose, with a subtle hint of baking spices. Lush and creamy, offering sweet dark berry liqueur flavors and a velvety texture. A sappy, deeply sweet style that is firmed by gentle minerality, which keeps the luscious fruit in check. This is all about fruit.

View more wines from Spain

The picturesque countryside of Spain is littered with vineyards large and small, and offers up some of the best value available on the wine market today. You can consistently fine critically-acclaimed Spanish wines selling for less than their counterparts from other wine-producing countries. The Rioja and Ribera del Duero regions are most famous, and there's nowhere else in the world where you'll find as many world-class Tempranillos.

Amatus Dulce

2011 / 375 ml.

WE8787 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 11/1/2012
Midnight purple in color, this has legs as thick as an elephant’s. It smells like boysenberry jam, spice and bacon, then feels like motor oil on the palate, with flavors of black fruit, chocolate and boysenberry syrup. It lacks complexity, but it hits hard with concentration, power and sweetness.

Hermann J. Wiemer Late Harvest Riesling

2021 / 750 ml.

Item #: 55663

RP9090 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 20th Apr 2023
The 2021 Riesling Late Harvest comes in with 47 grams of residual sugar and 9% alcohol. Sugar becomes the keynote here, but this is hardly all that sweet. It’s just young and lush. The sugar on the finish makes the overall presentation a bit nicer, perhaps, than on the other wines in the lineup since it covers up any missing expression of fruit in this rainy vintage. The price is nice too, but you will have to like that sugary edge. There’s not a lot of intensity, but this still has a shot at holding pretty well. If I had a quibble, it did seem to get a little funky in aromatics as it aired out. It still showed well overall, though, so let’s lean up for the moment. There were 1,099 cases produced.
