Shop for Zinfandel

When it comes to wine, no other grape can challenge Zinfandel for the title of "America's Grape." That's not to say it's the most planted or popular wine grape in the United States, but it's just about the only grape that American's can claim for themselves. And Zinfandel is a versatile grape at that.

Largely popularized by the explosion of White Zinfandel (a blush wine) onto the wine scene in the 1980's, Zinfandel is also used to make bold-flavored red wines that pair perfectly with another American pastime, barbecue. Nearly all Zinfandel wines come from California, including the best white zinfandel wines in the world.

  2. Saxon Brown Zinfandel, Fighting Brothers

    2014 / 750 ml. | Item#52078

    RP9393 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 28th Feb 2017
Deep garnet in color, the 2014 Zinfandel Fighting Brothers offers an abundance of black fruit preserves and blueberry pie notes plus underlying spice cake, incense and chocolate box hints. The richly fruited, full-bodied palate is packed with dried berries and spice layers, framed by velvety tannins and much needed freshness, which contributes a lively lift to the weighty finish.

    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#48145

    VN8888 pts. - Vinous - Jul 2021
Purple-toned florals, blackberries, sage and hints of wet stone lift up from the 2019 Primitivo Orion. This is a soft and pliant effort, presenting a savory fruit profile and salty minerals that add tension toward the close. It tapers off with medium length to a buzz of residual acids and hints of sour citrus.

    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#22061

    SP9191 pts. - Wine Spectator - Mar 15, 2021
Jammy and bold, with ripe raspberry, toasty spice and smoky fennel accents that finish on a zippy note. Drink now through 2028. 50,800 cases made.
    WS8888 pts. - Wine & Spirits - 06/21
Black, ripe and boozy, this is a big zin with enough tannic structure to hold and boost the prune and blueberry flavors. A sweet and gentle red for barbecue.
